San Jose Plan Wraps Convertibles Search

Calamos Advisors has been tapped by the San Jose Police and Fire Department Retirement Plan to oversee a $50 million convertible securities mandate. Ron Kumar, financial analyst at the $2.56 billion plan, said Lord, Abbett & Co. and Oaktree Capital Management were also considered for the contract. San Jose's other pension fund, the $1.4 billion Federated City Employees' Retirement System is currently conducting a similar search, with Calamos, Oaktree and Zazove Associates in the running as finalists.
