Ohio SERS Search for Enhanced Indexed Managers
December 6, 2005
The $9.3 billion School Employees' Retirement System of Ohio has initiated an RFI for two managers to handle approximately $250 million each in enhanced equity strategies.
Full specifics of the search could not be ascertained, as Robert Cowman, the plan's director of investments, was not immediately available for comment.
However, according to the RFI, which was obtained by IMW, the two managers would oversee complementary portfolio approaches: one utilizing a synthetic approach, with the other based on stock selection. The strategies would be benchmarked against either the S&P 500 or the Russell 1000 Indexes.
The deadline for RFI inquiries is Dec. 16 and submissions are due Jan. 9.
