Bornhoft Group Hires Managed Futures Pioneer

Denver, Colo.-based investment firm The Bornhoft Group (TBG) hired a new partner earlier this month.
Tom O’Donnell, who joined the firm Nov. 1, will also sit on the investment committee and oversee “TBG’s institutional marketing campaign and client correspondence activities,” a press release said. The firm provides managed futures for institutional investors.
O’Donnell’s experience includes serving as program director for the external global equity program at the Virginia Retirement System (VRS) nearly 20 years ago. While at VRS, he also worked on the market neutral and managed futures programs, helping the system to be among the first public funds to invest in managed futures, according to the statement.
Meanwhile, his most recent stint was with Newedge USA, where he was a VP in the Alternatives Investments Group. It could not be ascertained if the firm named a replacement for O’Donnell, however.
