November 23, 2009
A Lehman Brothers veteran has joined the Board of Directors for National Investment Managers (NIVM), a national retirement plan administration and investment management firm.
Financial services expert Steve Virany agreed to serve on the Dublin, Ohio-based firm’s Board today, a press release stated.
Prior to joining NVMI, he spent more than 20 years at now-defunct Lehman Brothers, where he was a fixed-income managing director. Additionally, he served for three years as a principal for Boston Capital Mortgage Corporation.
With the new appointment, Steve Ross, CEO of NIVM said in the press release that the firm’s shareholders “will gain considerably from his insights and support.”
“We are fortunate to attract someone with Steve's breadth and depth of experience in the capital markets,” Ross added. “We believe that his expertise will be invaluable as we plan for the long term growth and success of our business.”
According to Virany, the firms $11 billion or roughly 11,000 qualified retirement plans under administration puts the management firm in a good position for sustainability.
"I have followed the company as it has executed its business plan and grown over the past few years, and I am convinced it is well positioned in the retirement services sector,” Virany said. “I welcome the opportunity to help the business prepare for continued growth and success, and to create value for its shareholders."
